The much-talked-about Pulsar 250 is finally ready for the road

The year 2011 will prove to be a momentous year for Bajaj Auto Ltd, what with the company’s new ventures with KTM, Austria, and its purported entry into the four-wheeler segment. Now we have confirmed news that Bajaj are finally going to launch a bigger and faster iteration of the Pulsar come mid-2011.

The new Pulsar will sport a monoshock rear suspension, which should endow the Pulsar with some much-needed agility on the twisties. And, yes, the forthcoming bike is going to need that handling prowess considering that the engine capacity has been ramped up to 250 cc. While power and torque figures are undisclosed, our sources also confirmed that the engine would be a single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled unit, much like as the engine on the current 135 cc Pulsar Light Sports. The Pulsar 250 will also borrow some styling cues from the Pulsar 135 LS with similar slash-cut styling and edgy bodywork as the latter. Stay tuned for more.
