About a month ago we broke the news that Bajaj will be launching a new variant of the Pulsar 220. We also expressed our disappointment when it was not displayed at the Auto Expo 2010, but now we are thrilled to share the pictures of the new Pulsar 220 exclusively for your eyes only, given to us by our avid reader, Akshay Tendulkar.
This street-fighter version is based on, the now discontinued, Pulsar 200 and sheds the meaty quarter fairing to dawn P200's bikini fairing and tank scoops. With the excessive baggage gone, the new P220 with 21Ps of raw power would become a even more potent tool. The new variant will also sport the same carbureted 220cc engine, clip-on handlebars, front and rear disc brakes and 17” alloys with tubeless MRF Zappers tyres.

The other embellishment would be the all black engine, forks, handlebar, swing-arm and rear grab-rails. Though there is no change on the rear styling of the new bike, it interestingly features the exhaust chamber of the older P200, carrying the sporty-styling quite well.
Sources close to Bajaj had disclosed that the bike will be launched by January 2010 end and we expect it to undercut its F sibling by a couple of grand making it a super value for money proposition. So will it be faster than the fastest Indian? You won't have to wait too long to find out.
